Crate Engine
A crate engine or automobile engine replacement is an car engine that is sold by itself without any other major parts like drivetrain or transmission. The crate engines are manufactured as aftermarket parts or can be reproductions of an vehicle engine that is no longer in production. A crate engine replacement may be less expensive than fixing an engine or replacing engine parts.

Automobile Engine Replacements
Auto, SUV, sports car, or truck replacement engines can be used when an engine needs to be replaced in a current model auto, but mostly they are used by mechanics and new owners to replace classic car engines that are broken or if the owner wants a more powerful engine. These aftermarket replacement engines can also make an old car or truck more reliable for daily use. Since the engine is the part of the car that is always moving when the card is in operation, even when the card is parked, it is subject to the most wear and can be the first part of the car, truck, or SUV that completely fails first and will need to be replrced.

Replacement Blocks
There are some companies that produce new metal castings of some engines and the castings are called engine blocks. The engine blocks will replace any rare or even popular designs in aftermarket engine rebuilding. This is done when the new block has a better design or features than the original and especially if the original engine block for a used car is no longer being produced. Replacement engine blocks may be available made from aluminum and not the original iron or the blocks may be made in other stronger metal alloys. The newer engine blocks may copy larger engine displacements that were only produced in small numbers or they may be created with a displacement size that was never available before.
